The total trade of the Federal Republic of Germany with the Republic of Moldova increased last year by 5.3% YoY. The data were presented on February 8 by the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), taken from the Federal Bureau of Statistics of Germany, Destatis.
Trade between the two states exceeded 871.2 million euros. Germany’s exports to the Republic of Moldova amounted to 547.7 million euros, up by 2%, while imports amounted to 323.5 million euros, up by 11.4%.
“The reform agenda of the current Government of the Republic of Moldova is remarkable. We are convinced that this contributes to the strengthening of bilateral relations and that more and more German companies are interested in the Republic of Moldova as a place for business development. There is potential for collaboration especially in the processing and food industry, in the energy and trade”, director-general of AHK Romania Sebastian Metz said.
