Citizens will pay less for gas. The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) on May 2 approved the price drop. Thus, domestic consumers will pay a tariff of 12.15 lei (excluding VAT) per one cubic meter of gas, 1.24 lei less than now.
According to the decision, “ANRE found the existence of objective factors that condition the need to revise the regulated prices of natural gas supplied for 2024, the priority being to reduce the average annual cost of gas procurement from $518 per thousand cubic meters to $482.5 per thousand cubic meters.”
ANRE’s decision will enter into force upon the publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
The decision was taken after “Moldovagaz” submitted a request to ANRE to lower the average tariff for the supply of natural gas to end consumers.
Currently, domestic consumers pay a tariff of 13.39 lei (excluding VAT) per cubic meter.
The last change in gas tariffs was made in late February, when prices fell by 3.3 lei. (Moldpres)
