The largest 50 Ukrainian IT companies lost 858 specialists in the six months to January, which was the lowest outflow rate since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This is stated in the DOU study.
“The total number of specialists in the 50 largest IT companies in Ukraine as of January was 79.6 thousand. In the second half of 2024, it decreased by 858 specialists, or by 1.07%,” the report says.
In total, last year, the top 50 companies saw a reduction of 2 thousand specialists compared to 10 thousand at the end of 2023. The number of technical specialists in these companies fell by 901 specialists, or 1.5%, over the past six months.
Almost half of the companies still cite the legalization of relocated specialists abroad as one of the reasons for the leak. Another 10 companies fired specialists on the bench, and six companies were affected by restructuring.
In the past six months, companies more often launched new products or developed current ones (12 versus 8 in the first half of 2024). Another six companies entered international markets.
At the same time, in the second half of 2024, companies revived hiring: they hired 7.2 thousand IT specialists, which was 1.7 thousand more than in the first half of the year.
Service companies increased hiring by more than half. In addition, companies plan to hire slightly more specialists in Ukraine in 2025.
The first place in the top 50 IT companies in Ukraine is occupied by EPAM – the number of specialists decreased by 30 people in six months, to 9,570. In the second place is SoftServe, where the number of specialists has decreased by 56 people, to 7,279. In July the number of specialists has increased by 749 people, to 4,160. In the fifth place is Luxoft, where the number of specialists has decreased by 200 people, to 3,200. (URP)
