“We want every locality in Moldova to have a good standard of living,” Head of state Maia Sandu said unveiling the results of the European Village programme in Stefan Voda district.
“About 100 children have better conditions at the kindergarten in Stefanesti, an investment of over one million lei. More than 1,000 residents of Volintiri have access to drinking water, investment – over 3.3 million lei. More than 2,000 people go to the renovated House of Culture in Popeasca village, investment – more than 4 million lei”, stressed Maia Sandu.
The European Village programme was launched in 2022 at the initiative of the head of state, Maia Sandu. It included about 500 projects on local development.
A year ago, Maia Sandu proposed the launch of the Express European Village program aimed at enabling localities to implement projects quickly, in a maximum of six months, which require fewer financial resources. It includes 399 projects to modernize infrastructure in Moldovan villages.
So far, over 700 projects have been implemented under the European Village and Express European Village programmes. (Moldpres)
