After the latest massive Russian attacks on trade, production and logistics infrastructure, on August 5, a meeting was held between the Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky, the Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine Oleksandr Kravchenko, the Deputy Ministers of Economy and Environment of Ukraine Vitaly Kindrativ and Yegor Perelygin, representatives of the Government and relevant institutions with business representatives.
The topic of the conversation was ensuring the continuous operation of enterprises and a stable supply of products, medicines and other essential goods in the face of Russia’s systematic attacks on civilian infrastructure.
The meeting participants discussed the priority steps needed to support retail, logistics companies and manufacturers, especially those operating in frontline communities.
In particular, the possibilities of expanding preferential lending mechanisms, in particular for large retail chains, improving war risk insurance programs, decentralizing international logistics and expanding the customs corridor for the prompt redirection of commodity flows in the event of damage to production or warehouse infrastructure were discussed.
The possibility of using state facilities to disperse warehouse capacities was separately discussed. The corresponding list is already being prepared jointly with ARMA and the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
“The enemy is purposefully attacking Ukrainian business – from local shops and cafes to large production facilities, retail chains and logistics centers. Each such blow causes billions in losses and creates risks for the country’s food security. Our task is to prevent disruptions in the supply of food, medicines and other essential goods. Therefore, together with Ukrainian business, the banking sector and international partners, we are quickly developing a new package of solutions that will help enterprises continue to operate even in the face of regular attacks,” said the Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine Oleksandr Kravchenko.
The development of the proposed solutions has already begun. An updated package of measures to support affected businesses is planned to be presented in the near future. (Economy Ministry)
