The government has approved a proposal to co-finance 25 subsidy programs in 19 communities with 1.11 billion drams.
“This concerns a proposal to co-finance subsidy programs with 1 billion 110 million drams. Under the proposal, we suggest co-financing 25 programs in 19 communities across the country: three in Aragatsotn, two in Ararat, nine in Armavir, two in Gegharkunik, three in Lori, three in Shirak and three in Tavush,” Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Davit Khudatyan said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented and listed the planned projects.
“With this funding included, we will already have 12 billion 11 million drams in co-financed subsidy programs from the 2026 state budget,” Khudatyan said.
The prime minister welcomed the growing scale of subsidy programs, stressing that their results are visible in communities. He said that in some communities, the first stage of work had already been completed and it was necessary to proceed to subsequent stages. Pashinyan also highlighted the impact of such programs in encouraging private investment, including investment activity in the tourism sector.
“The volume of subsidy programs is increasing, and it is good that it is increasing because their results are visible in our communities. There are even communities where, at first glance, the first layer of work has already been completed. Second, third and fourth layers of work now need to be carried out, which is good, but, of course, the remaining volume is very large, and we must continue with this approach. These investments also stimulate private investment, particularly in tourism. In villages where there have been no roads for decades, even when information emerges that the government has commissioned a project – not to mention when a tender has been announced and a winner selected – people already begin building guesthouses and launching other private projects there. This creates a kind of indirect public-private cooperation model, which is quite effective,” the prime minister said. (Panam)
