According to the operational data of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, in July, 17.9 billion hryvnias of military levy were received by the special fund of the state budget.
The new procedure for transferring funds to the special fund is effective from July 1. In accordance with the amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026”, revenues from the payment of military levy are directed exclusively to the financial support of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military levy introduced in 2014 remains an important tool for mobilizing the state’s internal resources in the context of a full-scale war. At the same time, financing the needs of the security and defense sector is also provided at the expense of other state budget revenues, in particular, income tax, VAT, personal income tax, excise tax, rent, dividends from state-owned enterprises, other taxes and fees, as well as funds from domestic state borrowings.
