The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) informed that a group made up of 15 Moldovan farmers had sent the first consignment of peanuts to Italy.
The farmers, guided by specialists of the Euroalun (Euro-peanut) organization, managed to observe the requirements of the buyer and to deliver about 23 tons of peanuts.
“This is the first experience of carrying peanuts to Italy. A long-term contract was signed. The buyer is a company, which processes peanuts for industry. We had also other experiences of export to Europe. The first consignment included less demanded and non-homogeneous varieties; therefore, following a string of negotiations, a reliable buyer was found in Italy,” said a representative of Euroalun, Alexandr Perjan.
The export was possible including due to the association of producers.
“This fact reconfirms the power of the association and the joint efforts,” MAIA added. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
