In the Republic of Moldova, 450 social housing units will be built for 1,600 beneficiaries who will be able to rent the dwellings at an affordable price.
At the same time, student hostels and old people’s homes will be rebuilt for another 1,460 beneficiaries. In this regard, the government approved the ratification of the Framework Loan Agreement and the Grant Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for the Social Housing III project.
CEB will provide a loan of EUR 20 million to implement the project. At the same time, a grant of EUR 1 million will be provided from the Green and Social Investment Fund for the implementation of energy efficiency measures, with a further EUR 6 million grant from the E5P Fund. The financial contribution of the Republic of Moldova will be EUR 1.1 million. (Moldpres)
