69 companies will benefit from grants worth up to 2 million lei (100,000 euros) on behalf of the Moldovan state and the European Union through the Programme on Upgading and Energy Efficiency, managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA). The contracts on financing were signed by beneficiaries. The overall sum of the non-refundable financing is about 65 million lei.
The money could be invested in installations for turning to good account alternative energy sources, which would cut the consumption of conventional energy or would replace the obsolete equipment by advanced one and better production capacities; this will contribute to the technical equipment of the production processes and to the optimizing of the costs related to them.
According to ODA, the overall value of the investments due to be made in the economy is about 172 million lei. 33 out of all new beneficiaries work in the rural environment and 36 – in the urban one. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
