As of today, drivers are obliged to drive with headlights on during the day as well. The measure is provided for in the Road Traffic Regulation.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the measure is undertaken annually during the cold period of the year, characterized by unstable weather, accompanied by rain, gloomy weather and fog, which reduce visibility in traffic.
Law enforcement officers also recommend that drivers adjust their speed to the road weather conditions and keep a greater distance between vehicles in traffic.
At the same time, drivers will be obliged to drive with winter tires during the period when the road is covered with ice, slush or snow.
The measure to drive with headlights on during the day is valid until March 31, 2023. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
