Apples produced in the Republic of Moldova were exported to 18 destinations in April, the Moldova Fruit Association reported.
The producers managed to sell in the previous month more than 25 thousand tons of apples, compared to 20 thousand tons sold in the same period last year.
Moldovan fruits have reached the Russian Federation, Romania, Armenia, Belarus, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, etc. There are talks on this dimension with Egypt, India and China.
At the same time, about 10-12 thousand tons were consumed on the domestic market, and some were transported for processing, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Currently, there are about 45 thousand tons of apples in stock.
“It is important that quality Moldovan apples are in demand, which inspires confidence that by the time the first fresh fruits appear in the year 2022, all apples will be marketed,” said the ministry. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
