Bishkek’s Heating and Power Plant will burn more coal after its modernization, the State Committee of Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use informed in the report on the results of the heating season.
Kyrgyzstan’s power engineers are already preparing a draft resolution for preparation for the heating season-2017/2018. In total in the republic it is necessary to procure 2,315,716 tons of coal.
For the Bishkek HPP it is planned to procure 1 million tons of coal, including 550,000 tons of local coal. Supplies of coal from the Kavak basin will increase by 165,000 tons due to an increase in demand for Kyrgyz coal after the completion of the reconstruction of the Bishkek HPP.
Last year, according to the government’s decree, the heating plant needed to procure 950,000 tons of coal, including 450,000 tons of local coal. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
