Belarus’ mineral fertilizer manufacturer Belaruskali (Soligorsk, Minsk region) says it has doubled the production of NPK fertilizers in 2016.
Belaruskali’s NPK fertilizer facility increased output from 5-6 thousand tons a month in 2015 to 15,000 tons in 2016.
Belaruskali managed to increase output after launching new blends of NPK fertilizers and expanding the geography of sales. Lithuania, Russia, Latvia and Estonia are major consumers of Belaruskali’s NPK fertilizers.
Belaruskali manufactured 94,000 tons of NPK fertilizers in January-September, to compare with 70,000 tons in 2015 as a whole.
OAO Belaruskali’s NPK-fertilizer facility was launched in April 2013 and started operating at full capacity in January 2014.
Belaruskali invested $45 million in its NPK fertilizer facility with the output capacity of 240,000 tons. The new facility uses a new technology that combines three components (nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium) in one pellet as well as necessary microelements to suit individual agricultural crop.
The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units.
Belaruskali controls 16% of the world’s potash fertilizer market. Belaruskali supplies potash fertilizers to more than 50 countries, with OAO Belarus Potash Company acting as a sole export agent. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
