Belarusian specialists have helped overhaul part of the M05 Kiev-Odessa motorway, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Ukraine have reported.
A major overhaul of a 25 km-long section of the M05 Kiev-Odessa motorway has been completed within the framework of a Ukrainian government program. Part of this section (15 km) was repaired by the Belarusian-Ukrainian joint venture Belavtodor-Ukraine and the Belarusian civil engineering company SMT No. 8. A solemn ceremony to open this section of the motorway and a presentation of plans of the State Agency for Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) took place on June 24.
Various government officials, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol, Ukravtodor Head Aleksandr Kubrakov, Belavtodor-Ukraine Director Yuri Nastenko and representatives of the civil engineering companies SMT No. 8 and OOO DRSU-48 took part in the ceremony.
Belarusian specialists take an active part in motorway reconstruction in Ukraine. In 2019, enterprises belonging to the Belarusian road construction and maintenance holding company Belavtodor won nine tenders worth nearly $61 million to repair motorway sections all over Ukraine.
