Export of Belarusian agricultural products to Tajikistan rose 1.4-fold YoY in 2020, the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry reported after Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Mahmadsharif Haqdod.
Belarus-Tajikistan trade in agricultural products and food totaled $9.8 million in 2020. Belarus’ food export to Tajikistan rose 1.4-fold, to $9.5 million. In January, Belarus exported $775,000 worth of agricultural products and food to Tajikistan, up 7-fold. The top exports were sugar, malt, meat-and-bone meal tankage and dairy products.
Ivan Krupko and Mahmadsharif Haqdod discussed the state and prospects of development of Belarusian-Tajik trade and economic relations as well as preparations for a session of the Belarus-Tajikistan intergovernmental commission due to take place in Dushanbe on April 5. A business forum and a specialized exhibition will be arranged within the framework of the session on April 6-7. Products made by key branches of the Belarusian economy will be on display: AgroFood – agriculture and food, TechMach – mechanical engineering and technologies, Wood – woodworking industry and furniture, Health – healthcare and pharmaceutics, FMCG – consumer goods.
