Ukraine exported roughly 2058 KMT of wheat in October down from 2068.5 KMT in October 2015.
For the first four months of 2016/2017, Ukrainian wheat exports increased by 9.1% YoY to 8235.8 KMT against 7548.8 KMT in July-October 2015/2016.
The period under review saw substantially higher deliveries to the markets of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Libya, and Lebanon. Ukrainian exporters managed to ship 510 KMT of wheat to Morocco compared with 551 KMT for the entire season of 2015/2016. Supplies of Ukrainian wheat to the Algerian market have already exceeded last year’s volume by 18.5% and reached roughly 126 KMT.
In the first four months of the season the Indian market absorbed over 8% of the total wheat volume exported from Ukraine at that time (672.3 KMT).
Ukrainian wheat shipments to the European Union market are comparatively sluggish because no new duty-free export quotas are present to date. Another reason is wheat purchases by EU member states from the European Union’s domestic market. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
