Sales of imported vehicles fell by 34% compared to the previous year.
In Russia, about 1.5 million new cars were sold, which is 20% less than a year earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated. At the same time, domestic manufacturers improved their performance and sold more than 830 thousand cars, which cannot be said about imported vehicles. Sales of foreign cars fell by 34%. The largest drop was in the truck segment: Russians bought 53% fewer cars than in 2024.
In addition, the share of Russian vehicles at the end of 2025 increased by 11% compared to the previous year. The electric car segment also did not remain unaffected and lost 30% of sales in the Russian market. The most cars were bought in Moscow and the Moscow region at the end of the past year (The Moscow Times).
