The development of a decentralized energy system is one of the key priorities of Ukraine in wartime. Distributed generation includes both gas generation (GTU, GPU, KGU), and renewable energy facilities connected to distribution systems, as well as Energy Storage energy storage.
Such generation already plays a significant role in the regions, meeting the needs of critical infrastructure facilities.
Currently, the largest number of stations is built by households. These are solar power plants with a capacity of 5 to 30 kW and are implemented under the “green” tariff model or the active consumer model with state support under the state program of interest-free loans.
At the same time, business, state and municipal institutions implement projects that depend on the volume of their own consumption. These segments are dominated by solar power plants and cogeneration plants with capacities ranging from 100 kW to 2 MW.
In total, 762 MW of new gas-fired generation will be commissioned by utilities, private and state-owned companies in 2025. (Energy Ministry)
