The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash is considering the possibility of selling electric buses to Tehran. This possibility and other matters of cooperation were discussed as Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets met with Ambassador of Iran Mostafa Oveisi in Minsk, the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported.
Minsk and Tehran are sister cities. The Iranian ambassador met with the Minsk mayor ahead of the celebrations in order to exchange letters of greetings. A large number of cooperation matters were discussed as well as the expansion of relations between the two capital cities in various fields starting with economy and investments and ending with culture and ecology.
Tehran suffers from air pollution caused by heavy traffic, this is why Iran is interested in Minsk’s experience of managing and developing the mass transit system and experience in the area of environmental pollution control. The Tehran administration is interested in using Belkommunmash electric buses in order to reduce air pollution levels. In turn, Minsk is ready to deliver the vehicles. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
