Belarus and Egypt have agreed to set up an engine assembly plant. The matter was discussed during a visit of a delegation of Minsk Motor Plant led by Director General Igor Yemelyanovich to Egypt, the Belarusian embassy in Egypt reported.
The Belarusian delegation visited the Ministry of Military Production of Egypt, large industrial companies specializing in the production of engines and vehicles, and also companies supplying automotive equipment. During the meeting with representatives of Egypt’s leading engine producer Helwan Diesel the parties reached an agreement to set up a plant to assemble the most in-demand engines on the Egyptian market. The parties also discussed the possible acquisition of small-power motors by Egypt. An agreement was also reached with representatives of International Company for Industry and Projects, which sells concrete mixers of MAZ chassis, to deliver a prototype model of the MAZ concrete mixer buildup to Egypt for testing.
