Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv), the country’s largest air carrier, intends to launch long-haul flights to India and Canada in summer 2018.
According to the press service of the company, the matter concerns flights to Delhi and Toronto to be performed four and three times a week respectively.
As reported, the commission of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine for consideration of issues on the rights to operate air lines on August 28 will consider the issue of providing UIA with permits for regular flights to Toronto and Delhi. The indicated destinations, according to the UIA application, must be valid from September 1, 2017 for an unlimited period.
In July Head of the UIA Supervisory Board Aron Mayberg reported the company intended to expand its long-haul flight network in 2018.
“It will be Shanghai and, I think, Toronto. There also will be familiar flights: Beijing, New York, Bangkok,” he noted.
Prior to that, company president Yuriy Miroshnykov reported that UIA, which planned to launch flights to Canada in 2019, was considering the possibility of moving these terms and launch the flights a year earlier – in 2018. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
