A new substation has been built in Kara-Suu town, Osh region, Acting Deputy Director of the local branch of National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan JSC Aripzhan Topchubayev stated the press tour to energy facilities in the region.
According to him, reconstruction of the facility at the expense of loan from the Islamic Development Bank – 197 million soms – started two years ago in the framework of the project to improve the power supply of Bishkek and Osh.
“Almost all equipment was replaced, except for two transformers. In addition, we installed T-1 transformer with a capacity of 25 megavolt-amperes,” Aripzhan Topchubayev said.
He said that this substation fully supplied Kara-Suu town with electricity, and, if necessary, could transmit electricity to Osh city, Jalal-Abad region and some settlements in Andijan region of Uzbekistan.
The former substation was built in 1963. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
