“In 2017, about 55 million out of budgeted 120 million soms were allocated to strengthen the banks and carry out repair works at ten Chu River facilities,” Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Davletbek Alimbekov said.
The Minister of Transport and Roads Zhamshitbek Kalilov said that 11 extremely dangerous areas were detected to prevent emergencies. Bank protection works are already being conducted at 4 of them; the rest will be completed within a month.
“We are provided with all the necessary equipment, financial resources are allocated in sufficient amount. All works will be completed on time”, Kalilov said.
The Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov reminded that instructions on the beginning of bank protection works were given to the relevant ministries in February.
Jeenbekov criticized the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, noting that he did not see the results, operative mobilization. The head of government instructed the Ministry of Finance to allocate the remaining funds to complete the works on time.
