In January-July, owners of expensive cars paid 214.2 million hryvnias in transport tax to local budgets.
11.5 thousand car owners paid it.
This is almost 80 million hryvnias more than in the same period last year. The growth is almost 60%.
The largest transport tax revenues were provided by payers:
– Kyiv – 60.4 million hryvnias;
– Dnipropetrovsk region – 18.8 million hryvnias;
– Kyiv region – 16.2 million hryvnias;
– Lviv region – 16.2 million hryvnias.
Transport tax is paid by owners of passenger cars that meet two main criteria. In particular, no more than five years have passed since the year of their release, and their average market value exceeds 375 minimum wages established on January 1 of the relevant year.
The average market value of cars is determined by the Ministry of Economy according to the methodology approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The make and model of the car, year of release, engine cylinder capacity and type of fuel are taken into account.
Every year until February 1, the Ministry of Economy posts on its website a list of cars that are subject to transport tax. This year’s list includes 1,281 models of passenger cars. (State Tax Service)
