As of March 22, Ukrainian agrarians planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 471 thousand ha, or 20% of the forecast, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine declared.
In particular, agrarians planted spring wheat throughout 12 thousand ha (6%), peas – 122 thousand ha (44%), spring barley – 321 thousand ha (19%), and oats – 16 thousand ha (8%).
Sprouts of winter crops for the harvest-2017 appeared throughout 7 million ha (from 7.2 million ha of the planted areas), including 5.8 million ha (83%) with good and satisfactory condition, and 1.2 million ha (17%) – weak and thinned condition.
Winter rapeseed sprouts appeared throughout 878 thousand ha (from 899 thousand ha of the planted areas), including 702 thousand ha (80%) with good and satisfactory condition, and 171 thousand million ha (19.5%) – weak and thinned condition. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
