During his trip to Bukhara region the president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected a number of projects aimed at improving the well-being of the population and creating new jobs.
The head of state visited the Uzbek-Chinese joint venture Bukhara Brilliant Silk. The enterprise equipped with modern technology, on the basis of processing cocoons produces dozens of types of silk fabrics such as “Spring”, “Rain”, “Stars” and others. The silk yarn produced there is in high demand on the foreign market. Last year the company exported to Iran, Vietnam, Turkey and India products worth $2.5 million.
Another inspected project was the Uzbek-Singaporean joint venture Indorama Indust LTD on the basis of JSC Bukhoroteks. The enterprise will process cotton fiber and will create about 400 jobs. The enterprise is equipped with brand new energy-saving technologies of Riter (Switzerland).
20.6% of cotton harvested in the region is processed in the region itself. According to the program, developed by JSC O’zbekyengilsanoat, in the next two years, it is planned to implement 13 major industrial projects in 7 districts and cities of the region. This will allow processing 65% of local raw materials in the region, and will create some 5 thousand new jobs.
Within the program it is planned to attract funds from domestic banks and foreign investments.
The head of state was also given detailed information about the projects implemented by LLC Mergantex, a diversified textile enterprise in Peshkun district, cotton-textile cluster in Bukhara, which would cover the whole processing chain – from growing cotton, to producing the finished products.
