Gold remains the main export commodity of Kyrgyzstan, and Switzerland is its main buyer. This European country accounts for 42% of total exports of Kyrgyzstan, website of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the ministry, in general, Kyrgyzstan carries out deliveries to more than 80 countries. Several countries account for the formation of export markets.
Deliveries of products of Kyrgyz enterprises to these countries accounted for more than 92% of total exports of the republic. The main trade partners of the Kyrgyz Republic in exports excluding gold are EEU countries – about 50%.
The main item in the commodity structure of exports of Kyrgyzstan is precious metals, including gold, the share of which in the total export is about 45.4%. The share of agricultural and food products exceeds 12%, products of light and textile industry – 11%, engineering products – 11.2%.
Deliveries of gold increased by 5.4% last year, precious metal ores and concentrates, slag and ash – 7.7 times, vegetables – by 36.1%, coal – by 29.2%, glass and products thereof – by 27.4%.
However, the Ministry of Economy emphasized that the raw material orientation of Kyrgyz exports, underdeveloped processing industry were the most important problems in its development. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
