Production of all groats in Ukraine increased by 0.4% YoY to 298.8 KMT in the eleven months of 2016.
The most considerable hikes in groats output were registered in Kirovohrad region – by 48% to 7.1 KMT, Kherson region – by 34% to 18.1 KMT, Odessa region – by 27% to 34.9 KMT, Khmelnytsky region – by 22% to 11.6 KMT and Chernihiv region – by 16% to 10.5 KMT.
In Donetsk and Luhansk regions groats production keeps shrinking and has actually come to nothing (to 0.24 KMT and 0.42 KMT, respectively, in the eleven months of 2016).
Looking into the pattern of groats, the greatest gain in the reporting period was seen in production of oat groats (up by 57% to 3.1 KMT), rice groats (by 42% to 18.5 KMT) and millet groats (by 14% to 15 KMT). On the contrary, drops were registered in output of buckwheat groats (down by 22% to 48.2 KMT), peeled barley groats (by 15% to 9 KMT), pearl barley groats (by 4% to 8.4 KMT) and corn groats (by 1% to 55.4 KMT).
