In January-December 2016 Ukrainian seaport of Illichivsk handled 15,942,000 tons of cargo (down by 7.9% YoY), says the port authority.
Private port operators handled 9.363 million tons of cargo (58.7% of total turnover) including 6.127 million tons of cargo handled at the terminals of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (38.4% of total volume).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled12.974 million tons (+18.4%), import – 2.219 million tons (-28.9), transit – 650,000 tons (-69.9%), coastal trade cargo – 99,000 tons (-90.6%).
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 12.063 million tons (-3.6%), liquid bulk cargo – 1.384 million tons (-20.2%), general cargo – 2.495 million tons (-18.2%).
The highest results were achieved in transshipment of grain – 7.986 million tons (+56.9%) and loaded trucks – 1.071 million tons (+14.1%).
In 2016 the port handed 998 vessels and 139,929 wagons.
Throughput of state port operator – Commercial Seaport Chernomorsk – accounted for 41.3% of the port’s total turnover.
In December 2016 the port handled 1.641 million tons of cargo (-4.2%).
Seaport of Illichivsk is a multipurpose international port, one of the largest ports on the Black Sea. The port can accommodate vessels of up to 275 meters (or up to 300 upon the permit of the Harbor Master). The access channel is 1.4 km long, 160 m wide and 16 m deep.
