The meteorological conditions in Belarus are currently favorable for survival of winter crops.
Snow cover protected crops against freeze that occurred in early December. Soil temperature at the tillering node depth in winter cereal plantings is at sub-zero values close to 0 degrees C.
As thaw has set in, snow cover will be destroyed in the near future. The meteorological situation may somewhat deteriorate in mid-December due to another cold-snap expected. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
