The weather was colder-than-usual and featured precipitation. Diverse temperatures and precipitation shortages were reported in the country. The average weekly air temperature was +0.1 to +2.5 degrees C, mostly 1-2.4 C above normal.
Air temperatures peaked at +14 C – this occurs on average once per seven years at the time – and bottomed out at –13 C.
Most of the country saw no precipitation during the week, just at most 1-4 mm in some areas (5-50% of the normal weekly rate). The snow was gone towards the weekend. In winter crops, soil temperature at the tillering node depth (3 cm) bottomed out at –5 C that is far above its killing level (-15 C).
