In September strong public interest was aroused by the Cabinet’s decision to cancel state regulation of prices and mark-ups for socially sensitive goods.
This pilot project started on October 1, for a three-month period until the beginning of 2017. The project is aimed at proving the expediency of Ukraine’s current price regulation under which price increases by more than 1% a month must be declared.
The results of the cereal foods price analysis appeared ambiguous and even somewhat surprising because they indicated no significant price growth for most of the commodity items. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
