Total production at the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) was on average 644,000 barrels per day (b/d) (over 176 million barrels or 24 million tons in total) in January-September, same as in January-September 2015, BP Azerbaijan has said.
According to the BP Azerbaijan report, 53,000 b/d of that volume accounted for Chirag platform, 149,000 b/d – Central Azeri platform, 116,000 b/d – West Azeri platform, 74,000 b/d – East Azeri platform, 127,000 b/d – Deepwater Gunashli platform and 125,000 b/d – West Chirag platform in the reporting period.
According to the report, as part of ACG annual work program, a planned facility shut down program was implemented on the Deepwater Gunashli platform in September.
In accordance with the plan, production from the Deepwater Gunashli platform was suspended in September for about 11 days to enable efficient maintenance, inspection and project work to be undertaken, the report said.
According to the report, the work, which was designed to maintain the long-term ability of the platform to produce in a safe, reliable and environmentally sound way, was completed safely and on schedule.
According to the report, in the first three quarters of 2016 approximately $378 million was spent on operating expenditure and $1.12 billion on capital expenditure on ACG activities.
Azerbaijan produced 31.3 million tons of Azeri Light oil from ACG in 2015, as compared to 31.5 million tons in 2014.
A contract for development of the ACG block of fields was signed in 1994. The proven oil reserve of the block nears 1 billion tons.
Shareholders of the project are BP (35.78%), Chevron (11.27%), Inpex (10.96%), AzACG (11.65%), Statoil (8.55%), Exxon (8%), TPAO (6.75%), Itochu (4.3%) and ONGC (2.72%). (Trend/Business World Magazine)
