Uzbekistan will export 1 million tons of fruit and vegetables by late 2016, Ulugbek Rozukulov, Uzbek deputy prime minister, said at the first International Fruit and Vegetable Fair in Tashkent.
“Uzbekistan exported around 700,000 tons of agricultural products in 10 months of 2016 and this figure will reach one million tons by late 2016”, Rozukulov added.
In total, the export of fruit and vegetables from Uzbekistan will increase 1.4 times in 2016.
He added that the supplies to Russia and neighboring countries increased three times, to South Korea – five times, to the UAE – 1.8 times, and to Germany – 1.6 times.
Rozukulov said that agricultural products had been recently exported to such countries as Norway, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil, Cyprus, Macedonia, and the US.
Around 16 million tons of fruit and vegetables are produced in Uzbekistan annually. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
