In January-October the Port of Tallinn handled 17.01 million tons of cargo (-11%, YoY). According to the Port Authorities, transshipment of containers dropped by 4.9% to 167,780 TEUs.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo increased by 25.3% to 3.03 million tons, liquid bulk cargo dropped by 25.8% to 8.29 million tons, general cargo – by 4.2% to 470,500 tons, Ro-Ro cargo went up by 4.8% to 3.82 million tons.
The number of cargo vessels’ calls increased by 5.2% to 1,491 units, passenger ships – by 35% to 4,721 units.
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2015 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tons.
