As of October 3, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 42.9 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 39.9 million ha), or 90.9% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 111.7 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.6 ton/ha (in 2015 – 96.3 million tons with the yield of 2.41 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 26.9 million ha (97.1% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 75.2 million tons, with the yield of 2.8 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 18.8 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 8 million ha (96.1%). The average yield totaled 2.35 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 670.8 thousand ha (23.2%), and produced 3.5 million tons of the grain, with the average yield at 5.27 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 301 thousand tons of rice throughout 48.3 thousand ha (23.4%). The average yield totaled 6.23 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower seed harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 3.4 million tons of the oilseed throughout 1.8 million ha (24.6%). The average yield totaled 1.6 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested rapeseed throughout 783 thousand ha (78.7%), and produced 970.5 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.24 ton/ha.
Agrarians started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 617.5 thousand ha (28.3%), the produced volumes – 1.2 million tons, the average yield – 1.91 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 44.2 thousand ha only, or 91.1% of the planted areas.
As of October 3, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 11.7 million ha, or 67.4% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 12.4 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
