Ukrainian farmers continue to harvest sunflower. As of September 7, 599 thousand ha or 10% of the intended area (5905 thousand ha) was threshed, up by 27% YoY (472 thousand ha). 1170 KMT of sunflower was obtained with the average yield of 1.95 MT/ha. In 2015 over the same period 913 KMT of sunflower was obtained with the average yield 1.93 MT/ha.
As of the reporting date, soybeans had been threshed from the area of 136 thousand ha, which was 7% of the intended area – 1846.3 thousand ha. 276 KMT was obtained with the average yield of 2.04 MT/ha. Harvesting pace is slower than last year, but first yield results are better. Thus, on the same date of 2015 soybeans had been harvested from 233 thousand ha and 413 KMT obtained with the average yield of 1.77 MT/ha. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
