Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan will travel to Kazakhstan to attend a regular meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union’s agro-industrial policy council. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed the decision authorizing the trip.
The meeting will be held in Almaty from August 12 to 14.
Within three days of returning from the trip, the economy minister must submit a report on the results of his visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the procedure established by Armenian Prime Minister Decision No. 1230-N of September 19, 2018.
Russia has imposed restrictions on imports of Armenian products. In particular, imports from Armenia of Jermuk mineral water, flowers and certain alcoholic beverages have been banned. Restrictions have also been imposed on imports of several agricultural products, including tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries. Since June 2, Russia has restricted imports from Armenia of cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and other stone fruits, as well as their transit to other EAEU countries. Since June 3, Russia has restricted imports of eggplants, potatoes and dried fruits originating in and exported from Armenia. (Pan)
