The head of the state stressed the need for timely and quality preparatory and maintenance works at power stations of the country for the reliable and uninterrupted supply of the population with electricity and heating in the autumn-winter period. Chairman of the National Energy Holding Company Aibek Kaliev told about the work on the search for investors and signing of memorandums of understanding with foreign companies for the construction of hydropower stations in Kyrgyzstan.
“The President noted that, taking into account the termination of the agreement with the Russian Federation on the construction and operation of Upper Naryn cascade and Kambarata-1, the government should engage in an active search for investors for the construction of these stations. In addition, Almazbek Atambayev instructed the chairman of the energy holding company to work out proposals on this issue and to prepare regulations on the provision of essential preferences in the construction and operation of new power plants in Kyrgyzstan”, the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration noted.
