Agricultural cooperatives will be created in all regions of Kyrgyzstan, the department of information support of the Kyrgyz government reported.
First Deputy Prime Minister Mukhammetkaly Abulgaziev noted that the agricultural potential of the country was not used to its full potential.
“Despite the fact that a large part of the population lives in rural areas, the share of agriculture in GDP is incommensurable with the index and is quite small. In this context, the development of cooperative farms is an important issue that requires speedy implementation”, the official said.
Ministry of agriculture, food processing and reclamation was tasked to form an inter-ministerial working group to develop a comprehensive program for the development of cooperative farms and to make proposals for the establishment of model farms in each region of the republic.
