Carriers complain of permits issued to drivers from China and Turkey, but not from Kyrgyzstan. They stated it at a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Roads.
According to the press service, the heads of associations are interested in transportation of goods to China and Turkey. Foreign countries’ trucks give the domestic cargo carriers no possibility to be involved in the business. They carry products of local entrepreneurs, leaving Kyrgyz drivers unemployed and without permits.
Domestic carriers admit that they have poor material and technical base of modern vehicles compared with colleagues from China and Turkey. They asked officials to help with purchase of vehicles and to build logistics centers in convenient locations for drivers on Bishkek – Naryn – Torugart road.
“Cargo transportation from China and Turkey is built on the basis of intergovernmental agreements between two countries, and it is impossible to cancel these regulations”, the Ministry of Transport explained. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
