According to the official statistics data, in May Ukraine imported 3.9 thousand tons of rye. Belarus became the single country-supplier of the reporting grain volumes.
During March-May Ukraine purchased 11.4 thousand tons of rye from the Republic of Belarus, which exceeded the import volumes from other directions in the previous 10 seasons (2.4 thousand tons).
In several recent years Ukraine showed the trend for significant reduction of the production volumes of rye: 638 thousand tons in 2013 (down by 6% YoY), 478 thousand tons in 2014 (down by 25%), and only 391 thousand tons in 2015 (down by 18%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
