Ukraine increased gas production by 2% YoY in January-May 2016 to 8.391 billion cubic meters (bcm), the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry said.
Naftogaz enterprises reduced gas production by 1.1%, to 6.67 bcm, including production of 6.12 bcm by Ukrgazvydobuvannia and a 0.550 bcm by Ukrnafta.
Other oil and gas companies operating in Ukraine raised output by 15.8%, to 1.721 bcm.
According to operating data Ukrtransgaz, natural gas production in Ukraine in H1 2016 rose by 1.9% YoY, to 10.028 bcm.
In June, 1.637 bcm of gas were produced, up by 2.2% YoY, of which Ukrgazvydobuvannia produced 1.189 bcm, Ukrnafta – 104.8 million cubic meters, and other companies 343.6 million cubic meters.
Meanwhile, gas consumption in Ukraine in January-May fell by 11.8%, to 16.039 bcm. In particular, industry consumed 4.133 bcm, down by 23.7%, the population and government-funded organizations used 6.769 bcm (down by 8.6%), district heating providers used 3.807 bcm (down by 6.9%), production and technical spending amounted to 1.33 bcm (up by 5.8%).
