Turkish Airlines will start performing regular flights en route Istanbul-Samarkand from March 16, 2018. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a joint press conference with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The opening of the new flight will further bring the fraternal peoples of the two countries closer, according to the Turkish leader.
The aviation authorities of the two countries agreed on the regular flights between Samarkand and Istanbul, which would be conducted once a week, during the winter navigation period of 2017-2018. Starting from the summer period, the schedule will change and two flights per week by each air carrier will be performed.
At the same time, the number of flights between Tashkent and Istanbul will remain unchanged.
The National Air Company Uzbekistan Airways (Uzbekiston Havo Yullari) will launch flights each Monday en route Samarkand-Istanbul-Samarkand from October 30. (AzerNews/Business World Magazine)
