Since March 2026, Russian pharmacies have been experiencing supply disruptions of the drug “Ziflucort”, which is included in the list of essential medicines (EML) and is indicated for people with adrenal gland disorders. This was reported to “Kommersant” by patients themselves, who faced a lack of the medication on the shelves. The possible reason for the difficulties is the FAS’s setting of a maximum retail price for the drug (353 rubles), one of the patients believes.
In the opinion of Elena Vatutina, the CEO of “Pharmznanie”, the regulation may affect profitability: “In such a situation, the production and supply of the drug may eventually become economically challenging for the manufacturer, especially given the increase in cost, logistics, and currency factors.” On the websites of Russia’s largest pharmacy chains, “Ziflucort” was not available on March 16. According to the company “Rigla”, the lack of the drug has been observed since March: in the first two weeks, two times fewer packs were sold than in similar periods of January and February (The Moscow Times).
