This summer, Norwegian Air revived a long-dormant route that once connected Bratislava with Copenhagen after more than a decade.
From late June to mid-August, the low-cost airline operated two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays during the peak summer season, using Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft with capacities of 186 and 189 passengers, respectively.
However, Norwegian Air decided not to extend the trial operation, and the flights no longer appear in the airline’s new schedule. It remains to be seen whether the carrier will return next summer.
Norwegian Air typically updates its flight schedule twice a year, in October and March.
It is possible that demand for the Bratislava-Copenhagen connection did not meet expectations.
Passengers from Slovakia can still reach Copenhagen from Vienna International Airport, with direct flights operated by Ryanair, Austrian Airlines, and Scandinavian Airlines.
From December, low-cost carrier Wizz Air will launch a new regular route from Bratislava to Oslo. (The Slovak Spectator)
