From January to June, the total cash expenditure of the general fund of the state budget amounted to UAH 1.9 trillion, an increase of UAH 331.5 billion, or 21.5%, compared to the same period last year. In June alone, UAH 337.4 billion was spent.
Expenditure on security and defence from January to June totalled UAH 1.2 trillion, accounting for 62.5% of all general fund expenditure. Of this, UAH 187.6 billion was spent in June.
This is according to the monthly report of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine dated July 15.
In the expenditure structure by economic classification, the largest allocations were:
– UAH 734.5 billion for salaries and related charges (including UAH 127.2 billion in June), or 39.2% of total expenditure from January to June (an increase of UAH 134.3 billion, or 22.4%, compared to the same period last year);
– UAH 256.6 billion for the use of goods and services (UAH 43.3 billion in June), or 13.7% of total expenditure. Funds were allocated, in particular, for the support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military and law enforcement agencies, including the purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defence products, personal protective equipment (helmets, body armour and other specialised gear), fuel and lubricants, food and utility payments, as well as transfers by the National Health Service of Ukraine to implement the state medical guarantee programme;
– UAH 313.5 billion for social security (pensions, benefits, stipends) (UAH 47.2 billion in June), or 16.7% of total expenditure, up by UAH 31.5 billion, or 11.2%, compared to the same period last year. Funds were allocated, in particular, for: transfers to the Pension Fund for financing pensions, supplements and pension increases, social protection for children and families, support for citizens in difficult circumstances and assistance to low-income families, housing subsidies and benefits for citizens to cover utility services, solid and liquid household fuel and liquefied gas, the Ministry of Social Policy allocated UAH 191.5 billion for social payments;
– UAH 239 billion for subsidies and current transfers to enterprises (institutions, organisations) (UAH 34.3 billion in June), or 12.7% of total expenditure. Funds were allocated, in particular, for purchasing goods to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Upporting the operation of the Business Development Fund;
– UAH 179.8 billion for servicing public debt (UAH 43.2 billion in June), or 9.6% of total expenditure (an increase of UAH 47.1 billion, or 35.5%, compared to the same period last year);
– UAH 102.1 billion for transfers to local budgets (UAH 29 billion in June), or 5.4% of total expenditure (an increase of UAH 9.8 billion, or 10.6%, compared to the same period last year). (Government portal)
