Economic questions and cooperation between Georgia and the International Monetary Fund were discussed on Thursday between Lasha Khutsishvili, the Georgian Finance Minister, and Vitor Gaspar, the Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF.
The meeting also covered the country’s macroeconomic situation and actions made to improve fiscal discipline, the Finance Ministry said.
Steps taken by the Government for improving the quality of governance and reducing external vulnerabilities were also reviewed.
Khutsishvili and Gaspar raised topics of future opportunities for partnership and the Georgian Government’s implementation of reforms envisioned by the IMF programme for the state. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
