Speaker Igor Grosu had a discussion with Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte in Vilnius, and approached the Moldovan-Lithuanian commercial and economic cooperation.
Grosu pointed out Chisinau authorities’ priorities for 2023, referring to the reconstruction of the economy, energy security and strengthening of state security.
“Parliament together with the Government joined their efforts to make the Republic of Moldova a friendly and open country for investments. Currently, 48 Lithuanian companies are successfully operating in Moldova, and we would like their number to increase in the next period”, Grosu said.
Lithuania is a reliable partner for Moldova in carrying out development projects related to the consolidation of democracy and the free press, combating disinformation, as well as ensuring Moldova’s energy and economic resilience.
The official thanked the Vilnius Government for the help provided in the fight against COVID-19, and in managing the large number of Ukrainian refugees immediately after the Russian attack in Ukraine.
“After today’s talks in Vilnius with President Gitanas Nauseda, Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen and Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte, I am once again convinced of the special historical relations we have with Lithuania, and together with friends we will face all the challenges,” he said.
